SOUL CAFE Author of the Year!

When you are being recognized for your tireless work, nothing is small potatoes. What an honor to not only be nominated by but also voted for by my community. Being chosen to receive this award was positive reinforcement for continuing in my craft and an incredible opportunity for my family to witness. While writing The Monster In My Room, I envisioned myself having a release party like in Death Becomes Her. Well, releasing in April of 2020 cut those plans out of the deal. However, getting to dress up for the Soul Cafe Awards felt like a second chance. Granted the whole event was not just for me, I felt incredibly celebrated that day.
