The Anchor Getaway 2022
It has been two years since my dad has passed away from cancer. After the long awaited covid restriction lift, I was able to get a tattoo in his memory. Not long after he passed I was asked to speak at my church and gave a message entitled, “Anchor The Homeless Church.” This message was heard by a dear friend of mine that participates in weekly Bible studies that can be viewed from home by following the YouTube link. That Bible study is led by a group called, The Anchor Gathering. My friend thought my message would be perfect for the “Anchor Moment” portion of that Bible study. The Anchor Moment is a time where everyday women can share a time in their lives when they needed to be anchored by the love of Jesus. I shared about not only needing to be anchored by the love of Jesus while being in a church building transition during the pandemic closures, but also what it was like to be anchored by the love of Jesus while my dad was living his final days. On August 23rd, I had the opportunity to attend The Anchor Gathering Getaway where a much larger than living-room size group of women came together in community to share and receive the love of Jesus and the understanding of what it means to be anchored in Him. During this Getaway in Gig Harbor, WA, I was honored to have my anchor message published in Issue 001 of Anchor Living, a lifestyle magazine for women like me.
